OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The overall goal to ‘End the TB epidemic in the Region by 2035′, by adopting and adapting the vision: A Region free of TB with zero death, disease and suffering due to TB; milestones and targets as outlined in the WHA67.1 resolution. The overall objectives are: (a) advance universal access to high-quality care for all people with TB as part of robust health systems; (b) reduce the human suffering and socio economic burden associated with TB; (c) protect vulnerable population from TB, TB/HIV, and drug-resistant TB; (d) roll out new tools and enable their family and effective use; and (e) protect and promote human rights in TB prevention, care and control.
