Job summary:
The job will involve a large amount of monitoring, technical guidance to beneficiaries on permanent shelter construction with Effectiveness will have to develop and he/she can effectively report on them.
Job Responsiblities & Duties
- Having a complete understanding of the project goal, objectives, implementation plans, and expected result/output.
- Visiting PwS at their homes to conduct interviews and collect demographic data.
- To encourage and promote positive learning between the project staff and the communities.
- Enumerator must coordinate closely with the PwS, community members, Shuras and Maliks.
- Enumerator must work closely with the Shelter Project Supervisor and other team members to build relationships with the communities and local authorities, specifically DoRR.
- Beneficiary selection identifies vulnerable families eligible for assistance with shelter repair (major and minor), permanent shelter and transitional shelter.
- Prioritize persons and groups of concern for interview and selection of the beneficiaries.
- To Manage all phases of the shelter activities, including but not limited to, beneficiary selection, project planning, field monitoring, and project management and evaluation.
- To Conduct house-to-house shelter monitoring visits to identify the quality of shelter work and report the shelter progress of each beneficiary.
- The enumerator must technically support the shelter beneficiaries during his/her shelter construction as well as monitor the implementation of the UNHCR shelter project.
- Responsible for the document package (all phases ex, land documentation, land validation, etc.)
- During monitoring visits, identify persons with specific needs and ensure they are referred to the appropriate service provider;
- In coordination with the Shelter supervisor/Reporting Officer, maintain census work plans covering the target locations
- To ensure confidentiality and respect for core humanitarian principles, including the do no-harm principle.
- Collecting and recording data of IDP, IDPR refugees, refugee returnees and other people of concern.
- Maintaining confidentiality when collecting sensitive information of IDP, IDPR, Refugees, Refugee Returnees and other people of concern.
- Recording data from surveys or questionnaires on paper forms or computer tablets for statistical analysis
- To perform any other tasks related to project activities
- To perform any other tasks assigned by line manager
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in civil engineering is desirable
- Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in relevant field.
- Fluency in Dari, and Pashtu is required, English is an asset
- Experience in the usage of Office package (MS Word, Excel, etc)
- knowledge of English, both written and verbal, is mandatory in terms of reporting.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the local context, including socio-cultural, political, security and humanitarian situation.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated person able to work without close supervision.
- Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment.
- Encourage and promote positive learning between the project staff and the communities.
- Ensure confidentiality and respect for core humanitarian principles, including the principle of do no harm.
- Understanding of the humanitarian principles and strong commitment in ensuring their observation in daily field activities.
- Proven experience as construction Enumerator
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and Sop guidelines
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
- organizational and technical skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Problem-solving abilities
- Good physical condition and stamina.
